    A roadmap from the U.S. Department of Education outlining the proposed reauthorization of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 with a goal of transforming Career and Technical Education (CTE) via four core principles: effective realignment, strong collaborations, meaningful accountability and a greater emphasis on innovation.
  • National Center for Supply Chain Technology Education
    Established by a nationwide partnership, the goal of the Center is to increase the number of qualified supply chain technicians to meet the growing national need across the private and public supply chains.
  • Physical Internet Initiative
    A manifesto for efficient, sustainable logistics designed to transform the way physical objects are moved, stored, realized, supplied and used.
  • Right Skills Now: Rapid Ready Training for Manufacturing Initiative
    The Manufacturing Institute reports that over 80% of manufacturers cannot find skilled talent to fill their production jobs, with over half a million manufacturing jobs open right now. In response to this talent crisis and the need to create jobs nationwide, The Manufacturing Institute, ACT, the National Institute of Metalworking Skills, and the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness have partnered to develop a nationally replicable fast-track solution to deliver just-in-time talent to small manufacturers.
  • RILA’s Roadmap for Job Creation
    A roadmap created by the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) as part of its top legislative priorities, which include leveling the sales tax playing field between online and Main Street retailers, labor regulations, tax reform, swipe fee reform, health care reform, trade and privacy.
  • Roadmap for Manufacturing Education
    This Roadmap is intended to launch a continued dialogue among manufacturers and post-secondary leaders about the urgency to move forward with new models and different approaches to manufacturing education. Articulation among institutions generally has been the focus of much research and many studies. The topic remains complex and multifaceted, with many entrenched interests.   • Roadmap to Education Reform for Manufacturing
    On December 1, 2010, The Manufacturing Institute and the National Association of Manufacturers hosted a National Manufacturing Talent Development Roundtable where 36 manufacturing executives, education officials, and thought leaders gathered to provide input on a manufacturing education reform roadmap. This report shares those results.
  • Robotics Virtual Organization (Robotics VO)
    The objective of Robotics VO is to provide the community integration needed to ensure that robotics in the U.S. is the best in the world in terms of quality of basic research, economic impact, broad community engagement and promotion of the field as an important STEM catalyst. This objective is achieved through a series of activities that are coordinated through the Robotics VO.

    Led by the Smart Manufacturing Leadership Coalition (SMLC), this non-profit organization is committed to overcome barriers to the development and deployment of Smart Manufacturing (SM) Systems through an implementation agenda for building a scaled, shared infrastructure called the Smart Manufacturing Platform (SM Platform). SMLC activities are built around industry-driven development, application and scaling of a shared infrastructure that will achieve transformational economic-wide impact, manufacturing innovation and global competitiveness.
